Daniel Arsham

Daniel Arsham nasceu em Cleveland, Ohio, Estados Unidos, 1980. Vive e trabalha em Nova Iorque,  Estados Unidos.

Conhecido por transformar o rotineiro em algo espetacular e surreal e guiado por conceitos arquitetônicos , o multiartista Daniel Arsham transita entre pintura, escultura, instalações, set design e performances de dança. 

”De todos os produtos que os seres humanos fazem, a arquitetura é a maior e mais duradoura e importante forma de expressão cultural – é a única coisa que vai durar”.

Em 2007, desenvolveu o cenário para o espetáculo eyeSpace, o primeiro dos quatro que faria para a Merce Cunningham Dance Company, companhia lendária que outrora contou com colaborações de nomes importantes da arte como Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella e Bruce Nauman. Hoje é sócio e fundador da Snarkitecture, estúdio de design colaborativo que opera entre os territórios da arte e arquitetura.

Por fim, no ano de 2003 Daniel foi prestigiado com o prêmio Recipient of the Gelman Trust Fellowship

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, 1980. Lives and worksin New York, United States.

Known for turning the every-day life themes into something spectacular and surreal and guided by architectural concepts, the multi-artist Daniel Arsham transits between painting, sculpture, installation, set design and dance performances.

“Out of all the products that humans make, architecture is the biggest and most lasting and relevant form of cultural expression – it’s the only thing that’s going to last”.

In 2007, he developed the set design for the spectacle eyeSpace, the first of four that he would make for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, the legendary company that once featured collaborations with important names in art such as Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella and Bruce Nauman. Today he‘s partner and founder of Snarkitecture, a collaborative design studio that operates between the territories of art and architecture.
